Show Topic: Blocking

What We're Looking For

You're a Director getting ready to shoot a feature film, short, or commercial. You've already put some work into a blocking or storyboarding.

With an expert Director or Cinematographer, we try to improve your shots. We often work in Shot Designer on the show, and may bring a storyboard artist onto the show. You'll provide any blocking or boards you've already done for discussion on the show.

Requirements

• You have a real project that you're soon planning to shoot. This grounds the conversation in real problems.
• You have already done some solid blocking or storyboarding! We don't want to start from scratch on the show, we want to continue where you've hit a wall, or where you feel unsure of your work.
• You ideally know how to use Shot Designer, which we use to block on the show.

If Selected For The Show

• We'll select some scenes as focal points, and will need a release from the owner or licensee of the script (i.e. the writer or the producer) to show those script pages on the show and make them available as a PDF, as well as discuss the script and the characters as a whole.

Go Ahead And Submit!

• We'll only respond if we're considering you for the show. But don't feel bad if you don't hear back. Not being selected is mostly about what makes the right show.
• You will not be added to any email list.
• Any project pitches will be kept confidential, will not be shared with third parties, and are deleted if we pass.
• If pitching a project, you release us from liability, should anyone connected to the show be working on a similar idea. Improbable, but not impossible.
